<image:title>About - Soulwind is Ron Wright’s personal web page for highlighting his teachings, articles, podcasts and community. Ron is an ordained minister with Victory Churches of Chanda. Ron grew up in a small farming community in Southwestern Ontario. From a young age he experienced many deep spiritual visitations that directed his life towards spiritual development, Christian ministry and writing. He served for over 30 years in pastoral church ministry in Ontario and now spends his time teaching, writing, and sharing the riches of his spiritual wealth with various spiritual communities. Ron has at the heart of his ministry a desire for people to experience God directly. This is the passion of a mystic: not just to know God with the mind, not to just develop clear theology, but to EXPERIENCE GOD DIRECTLY, Face-to-face in the intimacy of Christ.</image:title>
<image:caption>“HERE THERE BE DRAGONS...” Soulwind advocates for a new mysticism in Christianity: a Face-to-face encounter with God’s Love in Christ through the inspiration of the the Spirit. Mystics are the map-makers of the landscape of God's Mystery. Never popular when alive, nor acknowledged by the conclaves of the religious establishments, Mystics wander alone… toward the map-less boarders of Inner Reality with God. It used to be when cartographers developed maps of the ancient world, they would leave the edges of the known world as a mysterious place of vagueness and danger. “THERE BE DRAGONS HERE", was the phrase left at the edges these maps, the edges of the known world, warning ships brave enough to voyage beyond the boundaries of reality that there could be danger. Wayfarers were warned: they would be crossing the POINT OF NO RETURN should they venture out beyond the realms of the known. Whenever we venture out beyond the maps of conformity: whether they be religious maps, theological, social, educational, conventional, etc., we head full on into the unknown. This unknown, far from frightening off the mystic, is where we prefer to tread. Mystics find their comfort in the ineffable Mystery of God’s Reality, because their goal is not to try and conform this Mystery to conventional parameters, but to let it be Free and untamed. Mystics don't run from dragons; they learn to ride them. And this is the way it is with God. He is understood, not by much knowing, but by much loving. Out beyond the boundaries of orthodoxy and religion, you find, on whatever religious or philosophical “map" you are using, a clear end to what is knowable by the words, rites and rituals of religions. It’s at the edge of these knowable boundaries, written on virtually every religious map, that “There be Mystics here". Historically, Mystics are the outcasts of religion. They play with dragons, frolic in the Mystery of God and come and go in and out of sight from the safe shores of orthodoxy. No one plays with Mystics. They are used as “live bait” for casting into deep oceans of being. Religionists wait to see if they return from the lands of mystery and ineffable brightness. Some Mystics return with amazing stories of other worlds and indescribable sights. Their language changes to match the visions they have seen. Their appearance altars: a far off look in their eyes, their hearts on fire with the oblation of distant worlds and the songs of the Tathagata. Other Mystics never return, having befallen the lure of the boundless ecstasy of Divine Bliss. The thing is, either way, religion needs the Mystic. Mystics are the offerings churches throw to the dragons to appease their gods of orthodoxy, not knowing that these offerings actually merit the entrance into Mystery. Truth needs the unorthodox journeys of those who climb to dragons lairs, map the cloud covered landscape of God's hidden Face and brave the journey across the Tintagel sea. Mystics change the maps of the religious world. They rewrite the boundaries of Mystery to tell us: “Here there be Boundlessness", “Here there be Vast and Infinite Love”, “Here there be Radiant Emptiness", “Here there be Endless Bliss", “Here there be the Face of God". And whatever words can be grasped of their ineffable mutterings, the esoteric maps of reality begin to be rewritten by the fire of living, breathing dragons. For years I have looked for my place among the religious landscape and finally know where I was meant to play: Out here… At the edge of the known… Within the Mystery... Where the boundaries of knowledge end and scriptures grow silent... Out here… Where there be dragons…. ~rOn</image:caption>

      <image:title>Podcast - Ocean of Ontological Light Podcast</image:title>
<image:caption>Join me on Spotify and Anchor for my Ocean of Ontological Light podcast where I explore topics related to the depth of our ontological reality in Christ. The Bible references the ocean to be like the deeply hidden realities of our spirit. “Have you entered the springs of the sea, And walked in the depth of the ocean?” (Job 38:16'; NASB 2020) While it is impossible to tread the depth of the oceans, it is possible for us to know our own depths and the depths of God because He has given us His Spirit: But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him. But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.” (1 Corinthians 2:9-13; NKJV) In the Ocean of Light podcasts, I examine spiritual truths that help us get a handle on the inner realities of our spirit’s new creation in Christ, so that we can live the scriptural admonition: For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), Ephesians 5:8-9 Our spirit is the depth of our being and it does not abide in poverty or lack, but can actually live within the depths of Christ’s Light and live out His amazing New Creation Life.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Articles - Partnered Vision</image:title>
<image:caption>Our life needs a vision of its partnership with God. Nothing stands alone. Your heart knows this and so your soul will forever be on a restless journey of dissatisfaction WITH everything until it rests in a satisfying Union with God, IN everything. This is the vision of partnership. We need a VISION about our life that transcends the natural and is, at least, as big as the Divine intention that fashioned us. Religion has it wrong. Our life is not about obeying God, but Union with God. God is not about issuing serious commands; He is into en-VISION-ing our spirit with enriching grace! He is not trying to get you to “tow the line”, but to flow in a Life of His kind. What God can do THROUGH your life is the only Vision your heart will be satisfied with. Our hearts are “visioneering” centers. That is, they imagine a God-enriched life beyond our current experience – to participate in a life of greater quality, higher purpose, deeper significance and wider impact than what our little independent life is currently capable of. Unlike the independent mind, our relational heart knows that no life is meant to stand alone, but is designed for partnership with God in a vision that sees the restoration of all things back to Wholeness. This is why most people are so discontented, boarded and stuck. We lack vision. Without vision, we settle for “life as usual”, pursuing a career, accumulating material pleasures and stuffing ourselves full with the next passing interest. Everything is evaluated, and esteemed only within a focus on a very tiny orbit called “me”. But a life taking care of only “me” will never satisfy. The God-sized Life of Christ that we subsist in has a boundless and limitless Love for everything. It has an off-the-charts vision for the Wholeness and Fullness of every living thing. That’s why, when we venture into our spirit and turn our affections towards this Bigger Life inside us, we begin to fill up and overflow with VISION. Just as our minds create concepts and ideas, our hearts produce vision. Our hearts imagine the impossible, believe the unbelievable and engage the unimaginable. To the mind this appears as impossible nonsense, but to the heart, it’s VISION is the only thing that’s really real. God shares a vision of His glory and grace with us. Our spirit is a gateway into a broader revelation of who we are and what life is for. When our heart lays hold of this inner vision, boundaries, bondages impossibilities, and restrictions begin to fall before the Light in our soul. Vision becomes the only path through the challenges that stand between us and the Wholeness God’s Love calls us into. Vision provides a good “restraint”. It keeps us focused in life on what really matters and draws our attention to what our heart adores. Without vision, our life runs wild and unrestrained leading us into all kinds of dead ends, foolish obsessions and sad regrets. Without vision our life is more “off purpose” than on. What vision controls you? What do you see as the purpose of your life and the meaning of your living? These are not insignificant questions. Without vision there is no governing principle to our life. To live in this age, without a heavenly vision, is to become extremely vulnerable to the concepts, values, and plans of the world that contributes to the degradation of our spiritual consciousness with vain pursuits. Where there is no vision, all that is left for the heart to chase after are the empty husks of a single soul's self-centered interests. But when we open our heart to God’s Love, we become an envisioned people. We see possibilities, not our own problems; we believe Christ’s victory, not our victimhood; we grow in the Spirit’s love not our own losses. Everyone needs a directing vision for their life or fall adrift to the currents of modern insanity. If you don’t raise up in vision, the world’s downward trend into darkness will veil the most beautiful inner Son-rise you could ever imagine. So, Raise the Vision and… Get on with your Mission. ~sOulwind</image:caption>

      <image:title>Articles - Language of Countenance</image:title>
<image:caption>Your countenance is beautiful to behold. Looking lovingly into that countenance, is the spiritual practice of contemplation. When two Lovers meet, looking lovingly into each other’s face is all the communication that is needed for a million words of affirmation, adoration and affection to be passed between them. Everything necessary to affirm a soul in its benediction is communicated by a Loving countenance. When we are called to be “with” God, the New Testament word for “with” literally means “face-to-face”. It is the utmost intimacy and familiarity. Usually we think the word “with” means “beside”, but God doesn’t call us to look with Him at what He is looking towards, but to look AT HIM, face to Face. He wants to be the only terrain that fills our vision. We can’t say we love God because we know about Him. We can only say we love God when there is nothing in us that contends with His position or prominence. There is an exclusivity about loving God that only a life of prayer can teach us. Knowledge doesn’t get you there. Until face-to-Face living becomes the breath of your spiritual life, no amount of book-smart will help you get one step closer to the liberation from the suffering you seek. If I could define prayer, it would be learning to hold a long, lingering, loving gaze into the Face of God. I call this being held in God’s Embrace. This is essentially what is called the practice of contemplative prayer. We look into the depth of our spirit and there BEHOLD the Face of God. The Mystery of this practice is that you also find your own “Face”, your True Self and here is revealed to you your own true countenance. “How blessed are the people who know the joyful sound! O Lord , they walk in the light of Your countenance.” Psalms 89:15 We all have an “inner face” that is our truest identity and looking into the Face of Christ by the revelation of the Spirit is the mirror that reveals our original countenance. There is so much warmth and beauty to knowing ourselves in God’s Embrace. It becomes a life-altering, world-transcending, virtue-blossoming, soul-transforming vision. We have so often turned prayer into some kind of pragmatic practice of “getting things done” or trying to force our supposedly “righteous will” on contrary circumstances, rather than practicing prayer for its true intended end: Knowing and loving God and ourselves, in Him. Prayer is a call to behold your countenance. It is a call to know your own face in God’s Face. It’s an invite into beholding your beautiful countenance and falling in love with the goodness, Truth and Beauty you find staring back at you. Everything we really need to know about loving God came with us as a new born baby. You see, babies have an innate drawing to behold your countenance. The face of a mother or father is their whole world. Everything about the world and their own place in it is communicated by a mothers countenance. Children are wonderful “countenance interpreters”. They mimic the faces they see. Smile into the face of a baby and they smile back. Express a face of happiness and laughter and they laugh in reply. A mother or father’s countenance is a child’s entire language and alphabet that gives them the language their soul needs to self-identify. God does the same with us. He calls us to “seek His Face”, so we gain the right language of spirit to be able to self-identify. By surrendering to the impetus of our spirit to behold His countenance we discover our own identity, purpose and significance. ‘When You said, “Seek My face,” my heart said to You, “Your face, O Lord , I shall seek.”’ ~Psalms 27:8 How much further ahead in consciousness we would be as a human race if, instead of getting up every morning and looking into a physical mirror to fix up the material image we see reflected there, we instead looked into the “mirror” of our spirit and adored the beautiful countenance of a soul face-to-Face with the Divine Lover.</image:caption>
